It doesn’t seem possible that a team with 68 wins has a closer that has been the closer all year and only has 18 saves

AS I WAS WALKING DOWN THE STREET ONE DAY

BA DA BA DA BA DA BA BAAAAA

He started with Bombtrack but settled on Ace of Spades the last couple of seasons. It baffles me but for some reason he identifies with Mike Piazza. I don’t even understand how he knows about him.

Good ballgame.

Grienke was really good.

Tucker provided the O.

Fuck those fans. Let’s ruin the rest of their weekend.

He probably confuses Mike Piazza with Trey Anselmo like I always do.

I’m pretty sure I have a Replacements cover of Ace of Spades around here somewhere I can send you just in case you need to break a slump or something.

That would be a winner.

Is Mike Trout still on the Angels? How is it the “best player in baseball” never actually plays?

He is injured, I read, but I do not know specifics of the injury.

He’s been out with a calf injury since May. It was pretty serious and he hasn’t even begun to resume baseball activities. It happens, like it has with Bregman. Not sure why anyone would see that as an indictment of his skills.

I remember Mo Alou dealt with pulled calf muscle issues a lot.

I sort of remember that. Soft tissue injuries in the leg, such as calves and hamstrings seem to be unpredictable. I hope Trout comes back, as he is indeed a generational talent to watch play.

It’s not an indictment of his skills. It’s an indictment of his contributions.
But, I remember Mantle was hurt alot too and if he wasn’t “the best” he was 1A with Mays.

Obviously he can’t contribute from the IL. He’s been widely regarded as the best all-around player in the game for a number of years now. No one is suggesting he’s MVP in 2021, though.

Mantle was an alcoholic and often drunk. That likely did not help his body.

If you’re the Angels, you’re not going anywhere this year(yet again) no need to rush him back for another .500 season

Nothing to do with the game last night, but watching the Texans, Spencer Tillman is worse than Eschenfelder. He never shuts the fuck up. And where does he get some of his schtick? He describes one guy’s skills as “he can do that all day…for him, that’s as easy as stealing.” What the actual fuck?

Much like Esch, Spencer is a very nice and likeable guy who is impossible to listen to broadcasting a game. Both should never be allowed to leave the studio.

His football knowledge is lacking also.
