Which is why I’m hoping this is an act for these broadcasts. She’s been on plenty of sports shows for ESPN. I just don’t think the act is necessary.
Here’s my take on this broadcast so far:
Good: the onscreen graphics are maybe the best I’ve seen - understated, not cramped, and easy to read at a glance, compared to some networks’ truly awful chyrons; the advanced stats in the bottom right are unobtrusive and easy to ignore if you want to; no annoying crawl/ticker at the bottom
Bad: the dugout reporter whose name I already forgot wearing AirPods Max for a professional sports broadcast is the most Apple thing ever; slow-mo replays are a little jittery
Ugly: broadcasters. I get that the newcomer network isn’t going to get top tier talent in year 1 but the Sunday Night Baseball crew would be a substantial upgrade.

And these broadcasters might want to focus on the damn game and show some excitement. That was the most boring response to a home run I’ve seen in a while from an announcing crew.

Nelson’s milquetoast broadcasting style as the play-by-play guy isn’t helping, either.
I feel like they are a bad morning radio team.
Plus, it seems like she isn’t really watching the game.

I agree wholeheartedly. Best I’ve seen.
I was sitting here think that I used to like Katie Nolan but just realized that I was thinking of Amy Lawrence who use to(might still idk) do the late radio on CBS stations and I’d listen while driving home from work. Both had shows that started with late but Nolan never did radio. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually listened to her in any capacity until tonight

I like Katie Nolan a lot in her shows where she is the host/moderator, but this is awful. I’m not blaming her because the whole broadcast is a disaster, but just saying that she is usually good. This is just a bad combination altogether.
