That was certainly a missed opportunity
Bregman is who he is so his not delivering there was completely predictable. Jose got a great pitch to hit but just missed it. Hitting is not easy. Dubon fucked everything up by idiotically chasing pitches way the fuck off the plate. His at bats have been total ass recently and I’m not sure why.
Hitting isn’t easy, but Dubon or Altuve should have been able to get the job done. It should never have been left up to Bregman to get a hit with two outs to bail them out.
Bregman used to be a really selective hitter, perhaps even too much so. But he’s turned into a hacker at everything. Last night he was the same way.
Middle of six…2-1 Rangers
Maybe one day Yainer will learn to not swing at everything.
With all Bregman performance-related caveats duly noted…here’s his OPS by month
.577
.719
.817
.919
I like this trend.
Dubin in for the Astros
Please no more walks
Stretch time…2-1 Rangers
Some runs by the Astros’ offense would be appreciated.
LeClerc in
They started their All-Star break yesterday
Peña down on strikes
Why would they ever throw a strike?
Meyers pops up
End of seven…2-1
Montero in
4-1 Rangers
Who would have guessed that would happen?
