Fuck the Yankees.

Repeatedly.

Ha! Donaldson thought he hit a homer and got thrown out at first.

That was funny as fuck. Heā€™s got his head down in his home run trot, not realizing the ball was off the wall.

Sooooā€¦

Maybe Diaz instead of Mancini thursday?

Iā€™m sure Alvarez will need to rest. He had a busy day Tuesday.

Indeed! He needs several days off.

His stomach is full from devouring the hearts of every Seattle fan

Hearts and minds

I would think about Hensley but in the end I would stick with Mancini. Iā€™ll bet Dusty has Dubon penciled in for a start some time soon.

Dusty mentioned either earlier today or last night that he thinks Meyers will hit Castillo well, so I expect to see him tomorrow. Diaz has torched the Mariners all season and has been hitting better than Mancini since he got back from the IL. I wouldnā€™t be surprised to see Diaz in left and Yordan DHing.

Is Diaz a better left fielder than Alvarez?

No.

I donā€™t think so but it allows for more positional flexibility throughout the game. Though Iā€™m assuming that the Ohtani rule didnā€™t change losing your DH if you move them into the field.

Only affects pitcher

The DH s only for the starting pitcher. So if you let your starting pitcher hit, you can keep him as DH, even if you remove him from the mound. But moving your DH to the field means the pitcher now has to hit.

Wonder if theyā€™ll change that.

I.e. let you burn a bench spot to fill the DH role.

They donā€™t want pitchers hitting (with one notable exception).

Padres make it a best of 3 after beating the Dodgers 5-3

You can burn a bench spot to replace your DH, but you canā€™t add one later in the game. If you bring the DH into the game defensively, he is, by definition, no longer a DH, heā€™s a defensive player. Someone else has to bat in the order, and if you donā€™t have a DH, itā€™s gotta be the pitcher. Theyā€™ve never considered changing this before, so I canā€™t imagine why they would now.
