Has Francona always been an idiot or is this a new wrinkle? Because he’s made one potentially fatal error with respect to today’s starter and then the non challenge.
What was the non challenge? I was in the car.
Runner and fielder both dove for first base. Runners foot clearly hit first but called out for the last out of the inning.
I was listening on the radio and they just described it as “ground ball to 1B, Rizzo will take it himself for the out”.
Play at first. Cortes was late covering, so Rizzo dove for the bag, but clearly got there after the runner.
Francona blew both his challenges on ridiculously obvious calls the other night. Are the Yankees his replay team?
