ALCS game 5. Houston vs Everyone

Almost two years on this new forum and still finding some settings I didn’t know existed.

It’s amazing people around here still tolerate you.

Do they, though?

Shades of the Verlander Game.

That is fucking devine.

Also, I just got home and read all this glorious horseshit. Well done, all.

I was in the field first game, and had the game streaming on my phone turned up full volume for a while, then one of the players was nice enough to pull it up on his speaker and play it for the remainder of the game. So I heard almost all of it and got to watch bits and pieces.

Framber is a badass.

Is there any better kind of horseshit than glorious horseshit?

Didn’t see any of the game. Woke at 4:15am Ireland time for my ride to Dublin. Flying out shortly. HOLY SHIT, FRAMBER!!!

Yes, more than tolerate.

If Framber and Yordan learn important lessons from Game Five, the sky is barely the limit for both of them. If Framber realizes what being completely focused and pounding the zone does for him, and if Yordan learns what being aggressive, especially early in the count, and hitting to LF does for him, the Astros will have two All Star talents.

Did y’all notice how many more fastballs Framber threw? He had only one brief lapse when I though “uh oh,” but a DP bailed him out. I liked his zen-like focus in the dugout too. Did you notice Yordan did not put himself in his usual two-strike hole? He attacked pitches designed to get ahead of him. I hope both listen to someone whose words they trust, and I hope those someones are in their ears today helping them realize and understand why they were successful yesterday.

I watched the game with my buddy at our lucky watering hole. After I was accosted by a drunk doctor who tried to put a curse on me, our lucky seats opened up, and we moved to them. Peace and quiet finally, and the Astros had the big inning. I need a pilot-like checklist in my car because I drove off and left my phone on the counter at home. I missed out on the GZ fun until I got home and read the entire thread. Good job, guys and gals. Sorry to have missed it live.

Do not be euphoric because we are up 3-2 with two games to win one at home. Remember 2019; if we go to a Game Seven, it will be a crap shoot. I hope Garcia is on the shortest of leashes, and if it were up to me, Odorizzi would start with the same short leash. I hope Garcia recovers his maybe-ROY form. At least the pen will be rested.

Man, after Monday and seven innings on Tuesday, I did not think we would get to Game Six. Go Astros!

Dusty said “I feel good, but I don’t feel great.”

He then spoke about being up 3-2 in 2003 with Wood and Pryor but having that fall apart.

As Hakeem said, “Stay humble, stay hungry.”

And throw strikes.

Not today. Holy buckets, gang.

Why was Hakeem throwing strikes?

Outlet passes.

I hate ESPN.
But I love Strom and this is a great piece.

Great piece

That’s a pretty good game.

I remember the call to Altuve. That pitch was preceded by a FB up at his eyes.

Changing the eye level of the batter can also change it for the ump.
