Yeah, but compare that with JD Martinez, whom the org obviously also misjudged.
Now that was a pitch to go off the wall with
Battle, Jason
Two totally different levels of misjudgment. Martinez has been really good ever since. Kîkåe has been useful, occasionally pretty good. No one could have possibly foreseen this outburst.
Well. I feel deflated.
MOTHERFUCK
Damnit, Castro scalded that ball.
Right on the button.
Damn.
Double down the line.
If If If…Chas steals 2B sometime there, that’s an RBI 2B in the corner, right?
Not saying trying to steal was a no-doubt idea
If Chas has stole second, probably.
If Schwarber isn’t guarding the line, we are tied.
I don’t think they undervalued him, there was just no place for him. He wasn’t going to displace Altuve or Springer, and it’s not because they were a joke of an organization as he claimed.
My point, though, is that – as far as I know – Martinez has never bad-mouthed the Astros about the decision. To the contrary, he has acknowledged that he wasn’t performing, and that the release was a wake-up call that caused him to work even harder.
Maybe Hernandez is the kind of guy who needs a chip on his shoulder for motivation.
Graveman on.
Luhnow acknowledged that Martinez was his worst fuckup as Stros GM
Enough about Martinez, Hernandez and their past ties to the Astros. Focus on the fucking game.
Yes sir.
The nun breaks out the ruler.
2014 they had Altuve at second, and Villar at short and Marwin was the utility guy. At the time they were all better than Hernandez. So he was traded.
