Pena gets the series MVP.
Way to go, rook!
Lance says âBury me in the Hâ
You hate to see itâŚ
So back to Xâs/Oâs briefly.
The slide rule morphed from slide into the bag to stop running 15 feet from the bag.
If IKF knocks that ball down near the bag Altuve would have been dead.
I know thatâs one example out of probably thousands where it wouldnât have mattered. But it always bothers me.
I think Altuve stopped to avoid a tag and flip DP. I thought Torres did not field it that close to the baseline, but I dunno.
Went back to look at replay, and thatâs what it looked like to meâŚhe was closer to Altuve than it initially looked. Looked like Altuve trying to buy an extra step for Pena by forcing a toss to 2B. It was good for more than that.
Also in my replay of the highlightsâŚin the 9th, if Pressly doesnât stab that comebacker, itâs a base hit and the inning continues. Good glove work.
Good thing it was not Framber.
Alex Bregman, 28 years old, is the all-time postseason leader in HR and RBI for third basemen.
No kidding. When Pressly stabbed it, I thought âjust run it to the bag!â Of course, that was not a good idea either, but I had a quick vision of him tossing it over Yuliâs head. Then I realized it was not Framber out there.
Wow.
Yuli motioned âgive it to meâ while Pressly was moving toward the bag.
Somehow wouldâve turned a comebacker with nobody on in to a two run homer.
That put me in an interesting thought. Wonder how Ruth played defense in RF in his days. Started a pitcher. Might have had a very good arm.
More post-game interview watchingâŚAaron Judge:
Heâs asked over and over again about pending free agency and he says things like:
âHavenât thought about it yetâ
âEnd of the game happened so quickâŚâ
When asked if he was excited about free agency: âStill have the taste of this loss, not thinking about free agency yet, Iâll have plenty of time to figure that outâ
Contrast that with Gerrit Cole in 2019, and itâs much easier to root for Judge.
I think youâre using the lowest of bars there.
I think compared to what Cole did in 2019. You could make a case that itâd be easier to root for just about anybody
Compared to Cole in 2019, Iâd feel like Benedict Arnold had some reasonable points.
I derive much joy in knowing Garrett fucking Cole has to sit at home yet again in October and that he got to watch his old club celebrating on his home field.
Thoughts and prayers, Garrett.
