Yuli’s flyout earlier was on pretty much the same pitch

T3:

Kemp flies out F9 on the first pitch
Machin lines out to LF on a nice sliding grab by Diaz
Laureano flies out F8

Nice inning from Odorizzi. 1-0 Astros

Peña pops out F3
Tucker pops to shallow CF, Machin and Bolt converge, but nobody gets to it. Single.
Bregman flies out F9

Brown flies out F7
Pinder singles up the middle
Garcia, pinch hitting for Bolt who leaves after the HBP…strikes out swinging

So last summers bought a case of Bada Bing cocktail cherries. I’m down to the last jar, but it was an excellent purchase.

B4:

Diaz strikes out swinging
Gurriel doubles to LF
McCormick…3-1…should be keyholing…fouls a hanging slider…flies out F9
Meyers…works the count full…foul…flies out F9

1-0 Astros

Yuli spends more time at 2B than a high school sophomore

Good Christ, Kalas. Could we slow down the slurpjob on a guy with a 8+ ERA just a touch?

He’s just trying a reverse jinx

Hey, I’m finally going to get a “Name That Astro”.

More slapdick defense, naturally

eta: should be overturned, if Dusty decides to challenge it

Might want to be a little more chalant on that effort, Peña.

T5:

Andrus…fouling off pitches…man he’s a tough out…finally strikes out swinging
Piscotty strikes out swinging on a splitter that rolled off the table
Kemp…0-2…grounds to SS. Peña’s throw is wide…TE6…Astros challenging tag, it was obvious…overturned…Yuli saves an error and score it 6-3

Jake strong through five…1-0 still.

My favorite part was how sour the umpire was in overturning it. Looked like he was announcing he’d just found out someone shit in his shoes and he just realized it right then.

He’s out.

But that’s another terrible defensive play. (The throw; nice one by Yuli)

Pena gets himself in trouble occasionally with the nonchalant no plant throw when he has time to set up. It’s really annoying.
