Good news from the Potomac collision: it reminded Trump that he lopped the head of the FAA without bothering to put anyone in their place, so now he has signed an executive order appointing some stooge as acting head.
Bad news from the Potomac collision: Trump also signed an executive order blaming the crash on Biden and DEI (I’m not kidding, watch the clip in the link below) and authorizing a witch hunt to harass anyone not a white man who happens to work in the FAA.
Basically, it’s just Theatre of the Extremely Stupid. That they actually believe this is true governance turns it to insanity.

The really stupid thing is that there is a shortage of air traffic controllers, meaning those we have are at risk of burnout. So DEI in that field is moot, because they are hiring anyone who is qualified for the job, and no white men are getting turned away because they’re hiring all of those who are qualified too.
At least, they were, until Trump froze hiring and told all the existing controllers that they could agree to resign and get paid for 8 months, or risk getting fired later without a safety net. So he destabilized management by shearing it off at the shoulders and destabilized rank-and-file controllers by telling them to quit or be fired…and then the first mid-air collision in 16 years happens.
But…DEI amiright?
DEI and wokism is the boogeyman for so many white males in my profession, sadly.

This is a 5-year old’s understanding of helicopters. The good news is that he looks absolutely terrible.
Trump has been here before and yet is still unable to handle the bare minimum of being a human fucking being.
He is also morphing into the Oompah Loompah parody of himself.

Want to kill your spouse and they’re a tad swarthy? Just tell everyone that ICE took them.
Even if the body is discovered later, just say that ICE must’ve killed them and tried to cover it up.
This is fine.
Perhaps this is just sadly quixotic but I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what constituency he’s hoping to appeal to here.
Maybe there are more ‘I want to pay two grand more a year for all the shit I was already buying’ voters than I ever knew about, and if they’re out there they surely should have been excited about the price of eggs in the last quarter of 2024. I’ve finally decided that some of these voters are just hard to figure. Shoot myself in the forehead with a nail gun to own the libs.
