Apple Music pulled this one up for me this morning, and that line resonated like a fucking earthquake.
Paul Weller wrote some great songs for The Jam and I sure like the way Bruce Foxton plays bass.
Incredible sound from just three people.
Got to see Paul Weller in Philadelphia for my birthday in September. Heâs still as dynamic as ever.
Itâs maddening and heartbreaking that the things he raged about in the 1980s remain unchanged.
Struggle after struggle
Year after year
The atmosphereâs a fine blend of ice
Iâm almost stone cold dead
In a town called Malice
And as I was standing by the edge
I could see the faces of those who led
Pissing theirselves laughing (and the flames grew)
Their mad eyes bulged, their flushed faces said
The weak get crushed as the strong grow stronger
Special shoutout to Rick Butlerâs drumming on both those tracks. I need a lie down just from listening to âFuneral Pyreâ.
Very different than the special interests groups that conservatives battle so bravely.
Trumpâs election win has this guy crying in fear his mother-in-law will be deported.
Now the Dems infighting and back biting begins. The Sanders quote at the end of the short article is probably right. They will not learn from this.
I completely agree with her, but she needs to STFU.
Yes, thatâs how tariffs work. They are designed specifically to raise prices to the point where there is no financial incentive to purchase foreign goods. But JimBob Pigfucker thinks itâs just free money in his pocket courtesy of China.
Jeff Bezos - whose main business is predicated on cheap goods from China - sold $1.2 billion in Amazon stock last week.
They know whatâs coming; they also know that it wonât hurt them. The oligarch class in the US saw their net worth rise by $64 billion in the days following the election. Nice return on the $2 billion they pumped into his campaign.
If Trump implements his tariffs plan, the cost of everything will increase significantly. The counter is that will eventually translate into US jobs and higher wages. Which will result in even higher prices, but also higher employmentâŚand the need for additionalâŚ.wait for itâŚimmigrant labor. Thatâs the definition of inflation. Tariffs are a systematic way to increase inflation and an immigrant work force. Just what every neck has been clamoring for.
You know this and I know this. The media would report the tariff debate as âthe Harris campaign says that tariffs will cause inflation and cost the average family $4,000, but the Trump campaign says thatâs not true.â And theyâd leave it at that.
Now the WaPo is saying âHey! That thing Harris said is true and youâd better be ready for it!â
How about adding such context to the reportage when it actually fucking mattered?
I have nothing factual to back this up, but I believe the âlegacy mediaâ (owned by giant corporations) is smart enough to know what and who drives eyeballs and clicks (thus ad revenue) in a modern media age, and itâs not the Democratic Party. He may be good at nothing else, but heâs an outstanding glory hound, self-promoter and bullshitter.
Liberal media my ass, the media made him 40 years ago and then did it again more recently with the ârealityâ show, and here we are.
Fuck it all and fucking no regrets, as a wise band once said.
She, and others, should have not STFU back when it mattered.
It mattered most when they didnât have an 8 year candidate in 2020.
Dems are notoriously disorganized. Sometimes itâs comical, this time itâs tragic.
Yes. This was I was trying to say.
Glass ceiling broken: JD Vance will be the first VP with a beard.
Spoiler
Her name is Usha.
