A Post Mortem

64 years on the planet. I suspect 57 have been as a dyed in the wool Astros fan. What this team has given me as a fan over the past decade is priceless. Proud of the boys for fighting through a season when disappointment seemed to be inevitable.

Regardless, I come to this, the most merciless of forums, populated by the very best Astros fans - simply to say ‘thanks boys’. If we never get the band back together, I am so darn appreciative of the 1620+ games that have made this decade special.

An excellent use of breaking a 2 year silence.

The tiny picture of this season is a shitty one, but when you look at the zoomed out shot of the last 10 or so years, it’s pretty gorgeous.

The good times are more numerous than the bad. The losing hurts but if it didn’t, the winning wouldn’t feel so fucking good. And this franchise has done a lot of winning.

They were just burnt out. Washed. This should have been a 90 loss season, and the amount of effort and stress it took to turn it into a playoff spot was absolutely gutting. Their postseason was trying not to die while struggling through a bunch of shitty series against random teams in August and September…

Yep. They were dead this year. Everything after May was a miracle.

This is the only part I disagree with. I never at any point thought this team would lose 90 games. I doubted them getting to the postseason, I thought there was a chance they finish with a losing record, but not 90 losses.
