I liked Schlitz. Back when dinasaurs roamed the Earth, there was a seafood restaurant in San Antonio called The Bayous. Their happy hour was 15 cent oysters and 25 cent Schlitz on tap.

Schlitz was my go to in high school and all the way through my mid 20s. Best of the cheap beers, in my opinion.

My favorite cheap beer was Milwaukee’s Best. A 12 pack was $2.50 back in the late 80s. It was pretty good too!

Schlitz was way too expensive for us. We drank Olympia. $4/case.
Lone Star Long necks were $3.99/ case in 1974…plus deposit on the bottles.

The link doesn’t work but I know all about this, of course. I’m pretty sure I spotted it when I was messing around on Google maps, knew immediately what he was doing and laughed myself sick. Then I looked into it and confirmed my assumptions.
I have a picture of myself in front of the building that I got my wife to take when we were in Milwaukee last September I think it was. I explained my interest to her and she just shook her head sadly.
