I’ve seen the Mavericks/Raul Malo about a dozen times including a very cool show in Co. Mayo, Ireland for my 60th birthday. He’s a once-in-lifetime talent.

My old roommate’s sister got me hooked on The Mavericks in 1998 when she lived with us in Austin for a couple of months.
Their 2020 album, En Español, is superb and the subsequent Austin City Limits taping was a favorite episode; their cover of Julio Iglesia’s “Me Olvidé de Vivir” is an all time classic.
Raul had a superb voice and was a helluva musician.
Rest easy.
