Verlander not on the roster.

I would have rather had Ort than Ferguson, but I guess being left-handed has its advantages.

Not surprising, as he wasn’t going to pitch in a 3-game/3-day series.

Chas made the roster–I wasn’t sure we’d see him. Hope that finger has healed up.

According to Rome, Espada flipped Tucker and Alvarez. Yordan hitting 3rd now.

WooHoo! I cannot for the life of me understand why you’d not want to bat Alvarez third. All the time.

The ostensible reason is that if Tucker steals, they’ll just walk Alvarez. Which never really seemed like an awful thing to me.

Analytics. Analytics say on base guy with pop bats first followed by your best hitter, then second best, then third, etc etc on down the line

I doubt Tucker is going to be doing too much stealing. I assume he runs significantly better than Yordan at this point and thus the swap.

Analytics also says batting order barely matters

True. Marginal over 162, matters almost nothing in a short series.

Do Analytics say the Astros will win? Because if so, I’m gonna go take a nap.

No but my Magic 8-ball says signs are positive

Maybe it’s just nerves, but I feel decidedly different about the matter.

There was a guy in front me screaming at Tucker for “lolly gagging” on the rule book double in the right field corner. Batgirl yelled at the guy “yeah, tell the professional athlete running on a broken leg that he’s not trying hard enough.” He tacitly conceded the point.

Oh, thanks ESPN for reminding us about Kevin Brown in 1998. Fuckers.
