Yes, you can, and I do.
I have never flown in a Helicopter. Thereās a guy outside of San Marcus that offers 20 minute rides for $20.00 and I wouldnāt fly with him. But I wouldnāt turn down a medivac situation simply because I refuse to get up in one of thoseā¦
I may have told this before but: A law school friend who was a jet pilot in the Air Force advised me to never get in a helicopter because (he said) āthey are not designed to fly.ā
I never have, but medivac is different.

Though Iāve had the flying bug since a little kid, Iāve never wanted to learn to fly a helicopter.
At least in an airplane one can glide a bit.
An auto-rotation (engine out landing) in a helicopter is fucking nuts.

Iāve flown on R44s a number of times in Africa with bush pilots on game captures. Not an intelligent decision on my part but highly memorable.
