I was playing along with the joke.
Me too!
Evan Gattis, a fanbase turns its lonely eyes to you.
Now he has the Crawfish Boxes.
Problem. Solved.
Rodgers’ career may have gone very differently if he’d developed outside Colorado. Hitting at Coors inflates your stats at home but actively makes you worse on the road—since pitches don’t break the same in the thin air, you don’t get nearly as much exposure to actual MLB movement. For very good hitters that doesn’t matter as much, but for borderline guys it can absolutely make the difference between flaming out early and a decent major league career.
But more than the Coors issue, he’s gotta fix his swing and start putting the ball in the air every once in a while. The coaching and development staff no doubt have changes in mind for him to implement.
I don’t think he’s suddenly going to break out and become an all-star, but he’s interesting, and he could very conceivably take over as the Astros’ starting 2B this year depending on the results of the Altuve experiment.
Sorry if this doesn’t work out in terms of below reference to stats from baseball reference. Art Vandalay I am not. Anyhow, home/away splits even worse last year and to your point, waaaayyyy more strikeouts on the road. I hadn’t thought about the effects of spin at Coors versus away from Coors but these numbers support your point on that subject in my opinion.

I read a report that the deal was not yet official. Hope they get it done. Good upside move if nothing else.
The Rockies haven’t exactly been known as a good team for development either. I think you can almost just throw away all stats for Rockies players, good home or bad road.
Hold on to your butts
StL had better be picking up a lot of salary if this goes through.
I would like the Arenado deal to include Nootbar please.
Sit back, Relax your crack and order a Diablo sandwich and a Dr Pepper…what could possibly go wrong with this deal?
St Louis needs to throw in Masyn Winn too. They need to make room for JJ Wetherholt.
Astros signed journeyman lefty reliever Jalen Beeks to a minor league deal. Pic unrelated.
