A lesser known Billy Joel track.
Fell at home and hit his head. Jeesh!
Alexei NavalnyâŠseemingly.
âDisappearedâ from jail about a week ago. Just before Putin announced he was running for President, again, to stay in power beyond 2030.
Run against a dead man AND count the votes. Stalin would be jealous.
Andre Braugher, 61.
Farewell Captain Holt.
Oh no! He was a favorite. Could do drama and comedy with equal dexterity. Much too young.
Damn damn damn.
I loved him as Frank Pembleton.
One of my all time favorite characters in any medium.
Feel the same way about his Brooklyn 99 character, Captain Holt. He was absolutely my favorite.
He was so good in Glory, which I am assuming was one of his earliest roles. So young.
Holt would have been a punchline in literally anyone elseâs hands. If they donât cast Braugher the show doesnât work.
And Glory is an all-timer. Broderick doing the best dramatic work of his career but he had no prayer of hanging with Washington and Braugher.
He was excellent in everything. He was a submarine captain in a short-lived series and was the only reason to watch. He carried the series in âBrooklyn 99â. My favorite role was in âTuskegee Airmenâ as the Colonel. His delivery of the last line when he informs his captain, played by Laurence Fishburne, that their new job was bomber escort into Berlin: âWe werenât assigned, we were requested.â was unforgettable.
Glory is one of my very favorite movies. Iâve actually been in the house that is used early in the movie as the home of Col. Shaw in Savannah. It is the former home of Gen. Hugh Mercer, the great grandfather of composer Johnny Mercer and the location of the shooting that is central to Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil.
Vic Davalillo
Ken MacKenzie. Age 89. Only pitcher on the original Mets squad with a winning record.
I would absolutely binge watch that show.
Still one of my favorite TV scenes is Pembleton, after Crosettiâs suicide, alone donning the dress uniform during the funeral procession. Been over twenty years, and that scene still sticks with me.
