2023 ALCS Game 6

The entire offense minus Alvarez were killers at some point tonight, as was Framber. Abreu left a lot of guys on base early, Brantley grounded into a double play late, and we all know what Dubon did in the eighth inning.

None of this matters.

Tomorrow is all that matters right now. They can do it. Just win ONE FUCKING GAME at home.

They have to get an early lead tomorrow, and not 1 run

The problem Iā€™ve got here is that the Astros are fucking putrid at home.

I donā€™t expect great Scherzer, but I do expect 3+ black holes in this lineup, because theyā€™ve been trotted out every game in the playoffs so far.

I hope like hell Iā€™m wrong, but itā€™s hard to see the Astros scoring enough to win tomorrow with a shutout.

Iā€™ll take a 1 run lead after the 27th out.

Unless youā€™re gonna play with an OF of Yordan, Brantley and Tucker, we just have to deal with black holes right now.

Oh Iā€™m well aware. Hence the sincere lack of confidence.

Tucker is one of the black holes right now. Which is a big problem. Heā€™s freaking bunting with runners on 1st and 2nd, nobody out in the sixth inning.

Iā€™d love to see Diaz in the lineup but Dusty ainā€™t changing now but we need every bat we can get and at least Diaz has caught Javier before. After his hit Friday night I was hoping for an earlier pinch hit opportunity but alas, Maldy waddled out there in the 7th. Who knows what might have happened had Diaz gotten the opportunity and a knock.

Iā€™m like you and fear a repeat of 2019, which would be a cruel irony to be the only team to be involved with a 7 game series in that fashion, and be on the wrong endā€¦twice.

Needs three more LOBsters to be accurate.

Win tomorrow. Regular season stats and postseason stats donā€™t mean jack fucking shit.

Tomorrow is the new season.

Tucker needs to show up ready to eat raw meat. Fuck whatever he did today or yesterday.

This is it.

I just donā€™t get Tucker right nowā€¦heā€™s all kinds of messed up but nothing we can do about it now.

I feel like weā€™re playing with house money as we had no business winning game 5 and weā€™re still at home and if we can just get a crooked number up in an early inning perhaps we can get a snowball going. Otherwise Iā€™ll have to root for the Phillies and take a long shower each night to get the stink off myself.

Iā€™m aware. Iā€™m not one that thinks this team is cooked after tonight.

Dusty is not going to put his nine best hitters in the lineup. Heā€™s just not. Heā€™s doing it now out of spite. One or two guys are going to have to make it happen and you have to hope for a career game out of Javier. If the Rangers score more than two runs, forget it.

I often hit the personal reply rather than the general one. Itā€™s a bad habit.

Iā€™m hoping there is someone who can be this yearā€™s Aledmys Diaz and show Tucker what is wrong with his swing mechanics before tomorrowā€™s game like he did with Yordan before game six last year.

No worries. I always try to be optimistic here, even among the incessant pessimism that is a Game Zone thread in the playoffs.

In their last 27 home games, the Astros are 7-20 and been out scored 146-105. Yes, itā€™s gonna take a miracle.

A competent manager would have had Diaz catching Verlander and Framber at least once down the stretch but Dusty would rather be right than admit his approach was wrong. Diaz should have had at least two dozen more at bats this month than heā€™s had so now even if he does start or PH late no idea what weā€™ll get.

We do have enough fire power to take it tomorrow and weā€™ll see if thatā€™s enoughā€¦we certainly need the invisiball tomorrow from Javier.

Or!! Dusty ā€œunleashes the Krakenā€ and JF-fucking-K plays left field and backup catcher tomorrow.

All kidding aside, this his lineup tomorrow should be fascinating. But it wonā€™t be. Itā€™ll be exactly what you expect and if they winā€¦ nobody gives a shit. If they donā€™tā€¦.? Nobody gives a shit.

The core of this team must perform. Not Diaz or Chaz. The core.
