2022 Dead Pool

She was amazing on several levels.

She was the best singer in a band with a number of others who could sing better than most people.

I kind of lost interest in the Fleetwood Mac after Rumours. I think Bare Trees (with Danny Kirwan and Bob Welch) was the band’s best album, at least it’s my favorite. Regardless of which incarnation of the band it was, her compositions were always well done.

In a past life quite a number of people told me that I sounded like Peter Green. I never really saw it, but I was perfectly happy to accept it as a compliment, even if possibly it wasn’t.

This genuinely sucks. She was my favorite of the group, followed by Buckingham.

The documentary on the making of Rumors is well worth watching.

Storms: My Life With Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac is an entertaining memoir by Carol Ann Harris, Lindsey Buckingham’s girlfriend of the late 70’s-early 80s, is a fun look into the creative dysfunction that was the band. There’s obviously a lot of baked in bias into the storytelling, but they are really good stories.

Clarence Gilyard, he was 66. Always liked Trivette.

How many bands have had three–three!–such extraordinary musicians and songwriters and singers?

Far and away the best NFL QB ever to come out of KU (granted not much competition there). 6-time Pro-Bowler with the San Diego Chargers. Also spent time later with the Rams, Packers and (during the final 2 years of his career) backing up Dan Pastorini with the Oilers.

Later a head coach in the original version of the USFL.

I didn’t know that Hadl went to Kansas. For me, he just kind of had no history before San Diego.

That one hurts.

One of my first memories of college football was seeing Hadl play for Kansas on TV.
Might have been a bowl game because back in the day we didn’t get but about one college game a week.
I know that must be shocking for you younger folk but only three networks and only one, ABC I think, had an NCAA contract until the bowl season. So, as a Texas fan I could usually see the OU game and maybe one more before the bowl season which was often the Cotton Bowl.
