I see what you are getting at. Yeah, should have let it go and taken a chance the umpire might not call it again if you keep the count in mind. Would expect a pro to do so, but I think human nature would make one more likely to swing.
At best, even if you hit that pitch it’s a pop up to 2B. You have to be more selective when you’re ahead in the count.
