Indians waved Brad Hand. Wonder if he might be an option to add a veteran arm to the bullpen?
Jesus Christ, why on earth would they do that.
Well, he was awesome in 2020 and very good in 2019.
I really like the idea of a guy on the Astros called âMr. Handâ.
I meant why would the Indians release him.
Per Twitter, the Indians have a $10mil club option on Hand for 2021, which they presumably donât want to pay. If they decline the option Hand is due a $1mil buyout, which the Indians also presumably donât want to pay. So theyâre waiving him and hoping another team claims him to get them off the hook for the buyout. You can also assume that theyâre waiving him because they donât think they can trade him.
Looks like itâs going to be an ugly offseason.
A few FAs may cash in (one in particular).
Many more will have to settle for less than what the pre-covid market would have offered.
And a lot of vets will get cut loose or not have their options picked up.
I wonder if any will accept a QO or 1 yr and try again next year?
He came in fat and out of shape. Did not know he was hurt.
CSW hired the Tank Commander.
Unbelievable.
I am all for Brad Hand.
Osuna waived outright, $10 million saved.
And Hinch to Detroit
Anybody interested in an Uncle Charlie reunion if he doesnât retire?
Hell yes.
CFM may not want that.
Now Iâm inspired to write a story of two crazed fans who kidnap a former player to bring him back to their favorite team.
Osuna, Devo, Garneau, and De Jong all cleared waivers and elected free agency
Sanabria was claimed by KC
