I hope Urquidy isn’t hurt by having so much time off.

Does LMC on the taxi squad mean he becomes available if he is cleared to pitch or only if someone gets hurt and he needs to swap in?
Only if somebody gets hurt. And the player that he replaced would then be ineligible for the World Series should you get there
Obviously, it sucks to lose your ace in McCullers. But, the Astros are capable of winning this series with the starting pitching that is available. It all hinges on what Framber and Garcia give them. If they pitch like they did in the ALDS, it will be very tough to win the series. If Framber finds his 2020 form in this series and Garcia looks like the guy that was a ROY contender, they are still capable of getting to the World Series.
Weird things happen in October. You never know what might happen
That, too. The Astros’ offense needs to do what it has done all year and their very good defense needs to help the pitching.
I totally agree. The Astros starting pitching was a full run lower in ERA than the Sox starting pitchers. Take LMC out of the equation and the two staffs basically become a wash. The Astros offense and relief pitching are slight advantages and the defense is markedly better. They have to play the games, of course, but I like our chances here.
This is a solid, veteran crew.
No flaming assholes here.
Porter is usually really good behind the plate.
Laz Diaz, on the other hand, is an adventure behind the plate.
Didn’t you say going in that the last crew wasn’t bad or am I full of shit?
Diaz will be behind the plate in Game 3 in Boston. Porter would be behind the plate in a Game 6. This would be the setup for a Game 7.
Y’all gotta win this one without me. I know that tears you up. Weeks ago before the playoffs started, I bought tickets to a play tonight. I am taping the game and will leave my phone in the car so I will not be constantly checking the score. That would be as rude as wearing a hat indoors.
Bring a win home, boys and girls! Go Astros!
I said there weren’t any flaming assholes on the crew, yeah.
Previous post:
No flaming assholes in that group at all, which is nice.
Hallion and Fairchild obviously have been in a bunch of playoff games and are pretty good. Vic Carapazza’s had some pretty awful games behind the plate this season, but nobody on this roster is going to scream “I do whatever I want!” at whatever assistant comes out when Dusty gets stuck in the bathroom again/can’t find his toothpick and can’t argue a big missed call in the playoffs.
Hallion obviously proved me wrong about him being pretty good, but again, no Ron Culpas in this group.
Yeah being bad at your job and being Ron Culpa are definitely two very different thing. Even though Cole is still on my shit list, I still burn when I think of Culpa

The fact that Culpa is still a big league up after that temper tantrum tells you all you need to know about the MLB Umpires union.
Accountability is definitely not part of their credo.
He was just following the example set by the leader of the union
What play?
City Theatre
Wonder of the World, I think the title is. A comedy.
Small local theater, but the productions are good.
