My wife once went to a party with Edgar Renteria. I mean, they were at the same party, they didnāt go together as far as I know. Her cousin Mayra did date a major league player for a while, though. I canāt remember his name. Relief pitcher, Dominican, played for the Royals or the Tigers or the Cubs, one of those teams. That should narrow it down.

My wifeās brother played 6 years in the Royalsā organization and a couple in the Giantsā. One of the groomsman at his wedding was a big league reliever. At the bachelor party he was telling me about making his Major League debut a Fenway Park. Greatest night of his life he said. Iād imagine so.
Think about how much fun the guys who arenāt all that great have playing big league baseball. Then try to imagine how much fun it must be to be really good.
I guess then imagine what itās like to find yourself done at 35 or whatever, sitting around at your house in Cape Coral or Scottsdale and just looking around and thinking, Shit.
