6 of the recently-signed NDFA pitchers got assigned to the club todayâDeLabio, Brockhouse, Ford, Gaither, Hunt and Perez. Perez and DeLabio each tossed a scoreless inning in todayâs game.
As far as roster deletions, the Astros said goodbye to outfielders Franklin Pinto, Raider Urceta, Andres Monzon and Yimmi Cortabarria. Urceta came in the Max Stassi trade two years ago. Pinto, Cortabarria and Monzon were all Astros IFA signings with the first 2 signed for $300K apiece.
3rd rounder OF Tyler Whitaker and 19th rounder SS Hector Nieves (who is listed on the roster as âGaby Nievesâ) added to the roster today. 16 of the 25 draftees/NDFA signees have now been assigned to a club.
Since I last posted, pitchers Chayce McDermott, Aaron Brown, Adrian Chaidez and Bryant Salgado were added to the FCL roster.
20 of the 25 draftees/NDFA signees have now been assigned to a club. The only ones unassigned at this point are Spencer Arrighetti (6th round), Colton Gordon (8th), Rhett Kouba (12th), Nic Swanson (16th) and Jaxon Hallmark (NDFA). All but Hallmark are pitchers. Gordon is out until next year due to TJS.
Arrighetti, Kouba and Swanson were assigned to the FCL club and made their debuts yesterday in more than satisfactory fashion with 8 scoreless innings between them and 12 Ks vs 8 hits/walks. Recent signee Ian Foggo was also added to the roster.
So only Jaxon Hallmark has yet to make a debut.
