Especially on three pitches well off the plate. That inning was not on Altuve.
And I knew Patrick Swayze was the wrong call.
Thanks, Neil.
This. We lost the game because we did not move the runner. Altuve’s bunt was a good idea, but it was a little too hard. Ditto HH re Sano’s play.
Get rid of Manfred. He obviously doesn’t like baseball.
On the bright side, the bullpen last night again did its job. Five innings, 2 hits, no walks and 7 K’s. We should have never been in extras. Have to win games like this. Need the starting rotation and the bats to hold up their end of the deal.
Next time I’ll watch Highlander.
Goddamn Patrick Swayze got nothin to do with it
I just rewatched the last 1/2 inning and here are my thoughts:
- the pitcher was clearly pitching Inside on Chas. The first 3 pitches were well inside and final one was on inside corner. Chas was swinging out of his shoes on every pitch. He must have been going to the Jose Altuve school of situational hitting. It should have been 3-1 without a single swing by him as he waiting for a pitch he could hit to the right side.
It’s 3-1 if Straw is the hitter ( or Brantley, Alvarez, Correa, or Tucker if it was at a different part of the order)
- if Chas was able to move the runner, then Diaz scores on the 5 hop ground ball to short that Jones hit.
Then my prediction would have been right about Jones, even if not about the score.
Let’s go get them today !!
If Chas moves the runner, the Twins play their infield in. No run on a ground ball to SS.
