Lee was nowhere close to the team’s 5th best prospect, Graveman will likely be fine, and a fungible backup catcher is a perfectly reasonable price to pay for a solid reliever.
This is why I was harping on stale prospect rankings in the other thread. A year ago, Lee was arguably at about that level. Since then, he went backward and lots of other guys went forward. But we still get stupid articles like this when sites like MLB.com (the worst offender) don’t update their reports.
I honestly have no clue why anyone would pay any attention whatsoever to “power rankings”. That could possibly be the single dumbest, waste of space “ranking” imaginable.
Prognosticators must get paid more than reporters…
