Trade Deadline 2023

It could be a busy and stressful day but I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone a happy Yordan Alvarez day

I just got out of my meeting and checked back here and we still don’t have JV. I am disappointed.

Strap in, this thing could go down to the wire.

Yep, I think there are going to be a flurry of players dealt within the last hour leading up to the deadline.

You may have picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

To Crane and Brown: I just wanted to tell you both good luck, we’re all counting on you.

Funny story: On Sunday, I was spray painting the hood of my 1998 Mazda Protege and a storm blew through so I closed the garage door as I finished up. 10 minutes later, I felt like I had drank 10 beers and could barely stumble to the garage door button. Not my finest moment.

Heyman(salt, all the salt) says Dodgers going hard after Rodriguez. If they get him, it gives the Astros a bit more leverage with the Mets for JV

I hope they didn’t order the fish.

Based on the story, I would guess he started on one and finished on the other.

I would wager that you are the only person in the world who owns a 1998 Mazda Protege and an Audi eTron GT.

Tru dat. I trained 13 teenagers how to drive. The “beaters” we used for that and for the first couple of driving years for the kids have performed yeomans service. Heck, that very same Mazda picked up this beaut just yesterday.

I don’t even flinch anymore when I get the call that “I’ve had a little accident”…

Speaking of “star H”

I was wearing my orange star H cap to work and some guy I don’t know walked by and said, "Nice Tommy Hilfiger hat " and was gone around a corner.

I was beside myself and could not stop thinking about it. It basically distracted me the rest of the day.

I used to work with this lunatic, for the longest time I could truthfully claim that I had never seen him leave a bar that was still open - that eventually changed and I don’t remember the circumstance, it was something irregular, obviously, but one day I went over to his home office and as I walked up the driveway and approached his Jeep I realized that it was now a different color, now a sort of house paint shade of brown. I also detected that two of his colleagues were observing me closely from inside. As I got closer to the Jeep I began to see the telltale brush marks. Oh boy, I thought. I’d seen a brush painted car once before, on a Miami freeway, of course. I was laughing so hard I nearly drove into a concrete barrier. Now I’m standing in front of another. I could just imagine that recent, beer soaked Saturday, a day that had begun with great optimism.

Friends, should it occur to you for some reason to paint your own car, I entreat you, do not use a brush. Use a device that employs a spray technology, no matter how rudimentary. And keep your garage door open.

Speaking of running into concrete barriers, I was in a boat with this same guy one night when he slammed head on into a huge concrete pillar that supports the A1A bridge over Jupiter Inlet. We both survived that little misadventure. I guess I’ll save the details for next year’s trade deadline.

What kind of monster does that sort of a thing?
