Yep. Yuli stays at 1B, Bell DH’s and Alvarez is the everyday LF if Brantley isn’t available. Then, you can adjust to give players days off.
Maybe I’m being a bit stupid and too conspiratorial but doesn’t it seem a bit odd that these continuing reports about the Astros interest in Castillo are all coming from NY-based writers–Heyman and Eric Boland (Newsday) and Sweeny Murti (WFAN) a week ago. Are they being fed this by Yankees brass and if so why?
Seems it’s just as likely it’s those guys agent(s) feeding them in hopes to make the Yankees pony up big money for their clients to try and beat the Astros in the Trade Deadline arms race.

It doesn’t, or wouldn’t, surprise me that the Astros might be interested in Castilo, you can never have too much pitching. Whether the Astros would be willing to pay the price that the Reds would want is another story.
Right now, adding another OF seems like it should be the biggest priority for the team. Names like Ramon Laureano, David Peralta in Arizona, Randal Grichuk in Colorado and Ian Happ in Chicago.
For reasons I can’t seem to articulate I’m against having someone named Happ on the team.

This can’t possibly happen. The Astros farm system is depleted and would not have the pieces to interest the Reds. I have it on good authority.

I disagree. If you include Garcia or Javier it could happen. Not saying that such inclusion of either player would be a good move, but I definitely think including one would seriously move the needle for the Reds.
I’m pretty sure das just needs to crank up his sarcasmitter.

Not that it matters in the scheme of things. Makes my skin crawl the idea of another Happ on the team.
