That was a horrible couple of pitches.
More like âhand grenadeâ sharp. Or maybe ânuclear weaponâ sharp.
But still sharp enough to get Altuve.
Strike three was a really good pitch.
I donât remember seeing a pitch like the one he spiked to Peña ever, not even in Little League.
Sure am glad for the x2 and x3
It was matched by some non-athlete throwing a first pitch last year, but thatâs the only similar thing Iâve seen.
Ponche!!
Youâre all welcome.
My lord, I just watched the highlights. Hader was threw several spinners down the middle the last few batters.
A night full of Astros pitchers not being their best selves. Hader sure indeed can spin some flat off speed stuff when he has a big lead. Abreau looked less fluid in his delivery and, man, the control issues sure showed. It will be interesting to see if last night was a one game aberration for Gustos fastball command. Looking at his batting average against that fastball, and all of his other pitches, he and Diaz did a great job to limit the damage when he was basically only working with his secondary pitches all night long.
Sousa looked good and kept the game close. Walker makes all the plays and makes it look easy.
Full credit to him because Sousa wasnât anywhere close to sharp for the first few batters he faced. Pulled it together, though, and kept the deficit to two runs. That, for me, was the turning point of the game.
