The Ukraine Invasion

I have a lot of problems and a lot of failings as a human, but organizing my civic life to punish a set of people I’ve been lead to believe merit punishment is not one of them.

I guess I would just ask that you extend mercy to my aunts, uncles, and cousins who live there.

I suppose we’ll have to give up my one uncle’s stepchildren since they aren’t blood relatives. And their little ones but I sacrifices must be made.

Now my oldest uncle, he’s about 86 or 87, if you absolutely must have family blood, he seems to be nearing the end. Last report is he can barely stand upright. Probably from the decades of lifting my aunt up as rheumatoid arthritis mangled her body literally for decades. She’s already passed so no need to worry about nuking her. Didn’t make it thru her second heart valve surgery. He’s still sharp intellectually but again, sacrifices.

My cousin the librarian recently retired and she’s an absolute sweetheart. She has no kids; tried for years but nothing but heartache there. So special exemption for her please. And her parents. They’re fantastic people. My uncle is laid up with ankylosing spondylitis. My aunt takes care of him when she’s not busy checking on the rest of the family.

I’ve got another cousin in Georgia so I hope she’s exempt from the rampage of justice.

I doubt I have to remind you that you recently left a state in part because the people that live there deliberately make it inhospitable to your family.

I know you’re a flyboy, in the best meaning of the word, but this plane blew my mind

Just trying to keep it tongue in cheek.

Trump blames Poland for Russian drones landing on them.

I need more information on this; like, what was Poland wearing?

“She shouldn’t have dressed like that if she didn’t want it.”

If you’ve paid your gravity bill then you can expect shit to fall on you if you shoot it.

Something falling on me because I shoot it down in my airspace doesn’t change the fact that, you know, it’s in my airspace.

Russian drones getting lost again.

Ukraine has been blowing the hell out of Russian refineries with drones and their new home-grown cruise missiles. I’ve seen reports of up to 38% of refinery capacity has been knocked out by Ukrainian strikes.

Ukraine had to gain this long strike capability themselves. Biden, unwisely in my view, restricted the range of missiles provided by the U.S. There is now talk that Trump will sell Tomahawks to Ukraine, but who knows as policy changes continuously.

Russia reportedly has to import refined products for the first time in many years. This is having a real effect on the Russian civilian population.

Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines in “Running Scared” discussing the demise of a man thrown from a window:

“Cement poisoning”
“Deceleration trauma”

I could not find a clip of this scene, so here’s a different one because it’s just an awesome movie.

It’s not the fall that kills you, it’s the sudden stop at the end.

Did he stick the landing?
