The shift

I was more concerned with the Astros hitters not exploiting shifts, which in my deeply incomprehensive viewing experience of this year they haven’t been doing. But perhaps I’m wrong?

I think some of them do. Brantley will take a pitch where it’s thrown. Altuve has become so much more of a pull hitter than he used to be, but he’ll still go to all fields.

Alvarez and Tucker are both pretty pull heavy, with Yordan being more likely to go the other way than Tucker is.

Dave Stieb, 90 mph fireballer.

We probably take for granted what freaks Ryan/Clemens/Johnson et al. were back then.

And what a force Ricky was.

Broadcast just noted that we shifted Lowe in game 1 of the series, he had 2 oppo hits, and we’ve not shifted on him since.
