Trekkie related:
Is it calling itself “Veeger” now?
Maybe it’s just having a hot flash or fainting spell. After all, it recently went through heliopause.
Do I need to watch the Book of Boba Fett before I start watching the Obi Wan series?
No.
Agree w/ @AFIBD. Rewatching Revenge of the Sith ahead of time might help with context but, if you remember the basic premise of that installment, the “recap” at the start of Episode 1 will be all you need.
As discussed earlier in the thread, John Williams has come back to score the series. You can hear/feel his excellent work in the first two episodes. But, have the sound turned up even as you start with the recap. It is sublime from the very first second. I’ve literally rewound it multiple times just to experience the score again.
Hot take: “Anaki vs Obi-Wan” > “Duel of the Fates”
De gustibus or whatever, but no.
“Spock Amok” was a fun episode.
Spock and T’Pring missed a wrinkle by not fucking before their minds were swapped back.
I caught up yesterday and IMO the music has been the absolute best thing about this series so far. Without getting into anything spoilery I have a hard time figuring out where they can retcon some of the things that have happened.

Really? I don’t recall seeing anything that would throw off the timeline.
The characters interacting with Kenobi within the show’s era are all “introduced” in ANH as clearly having had a long history with Kenobi, so I don’t see any conflicts. Luke (so far) remains blissfully ignorant of Obi-Wan.
We watched the first two Obi Wans last weekend and loved it. I thought they really felt like movies more than tv and the music probably had a lot to do with it.
I don’t think I noticed anything that would need retconning but I’m not a canon purist on any show. I figure as long as they stay loosely within the particular universe we all understand I don’t care. Leonard Nimoy said something like don’t worry so much about canon but pay more attention to what Star Trek is trying to say to you.

I fucking love this show.
I fucking love this show.
It’s like they read the negative press around Picard and Disco, and decided to act on it.
Stoked.
I’m on episode 3 of season 1 and even though I’m a huge fan of alternate history I’m kind of bored.
Does it get better?
Yes.
I felt the exact same way, and yes it does.
Thanks. I’ll keep watching.
If we’re still talking about For All Mankind, yes, it definitely picks up.
