Amidst the battle roar
Burrows is day to day with shoulder inflammation, per Tags. Felt it while throwing yesterday.
Well damn…I was hoping he might be a piece for the rotation down the stretch with a tweak here or there by Strom. Figures. Injuries have really crushed this team the last couple years.
I can’t see Burrows as much of a factor down the stretch, unless it is one of an inhibiting nature.
This is the tradeoff for the players drawing a hard line against performance-based incentives. They don’t want their compensation tied to how well they play, so it’s based on things like innings pitched, or at bats, or days on the roster. I doubt the players are going to let this change. So teams will continue to manipulate it.

Well, I’d rather not have to do it, but not a bad time to figure out if King can get his shit together and be a fifth piece eventually down the line and in the playoffs. I was happy to see Okert’s injury was not arm related.

I’m sure I missed it, but what happened to Santa? I thought he had some promise, if for no other reason than he could throw strikes.
He does but control is his big issue. Good news is he’s young and has time time to sort that out. I hope.
