Ort goes to the 60-day IL to make room on the 40-man for Paredes
What a fascinating year this has been. More interesting than entertaining.
I agree in terms of the fact he’s not 100%. Disagree if he was healthy.
I don’t understand how anyone can think Paredes at 2B would be anything other than a disaster.
What do you do with a heathy Correa, Pena, Paredes and Alvarez? You aren’t paying Walker the salary he is making to sit on the bench. Doubt Correa would shift to 2nd without an attitude. Pena is a gold glove short stop. Doubt Alvarez would make it 50 games in left without injuring himself so he’s your most likely DH candidate. An interesting problem to say the least.

I’ve never seen a healthy Correa, Peña, Paredes, Alvarez, and Walker. I’ve also never seen a unicorn.
If Yordan was a horse he would have been put down already.
Seen me a mermaid once. Even saw a shark eat an octopus. But I ain’t never seen no phantom healthy lineup.
This sounds an awful lot like a 2026 problem to me. As such, I will wait until we come to that bridge before worrying about getting across it
Walker makes exactly the same amount of money if you’re not playing him as he does if he IS playing. His contract is a sunk cost. The only question that needs to be answered is whether you think he’s going to hit better than the other guy.
Maybe we can swap Walker for a bucket of baseballs or something useful in the off-season. Crane will have to eat a good portion of that salary to move him.
He’s still got several helpings of the Abreu contract to finish off.
Are we just ignoring that’s he’s been one of our best hitters in the 2nd half now?
July and August Walker had an OPS over .800. He has tailed off in September.

That was Abreu’s trajectory his first year.
Abreu in 2023 and Walker in 2025 have very similar total hitting statistics. Walker strikes out more often but I’m pretty sure you would find that Walker is hitting the ball harder.
Peña scratched tonight with oblique soreness.
Hit a grand slam, get injured.
That’s the 2025 exchange rate.
You really cannot make this shit up man
The Astros might not win another game this year.
