There are minor league staffs that can do much better than the shit sandwich the Astros staff has delivered this season. Steven Okert and Bryan King were good last year. Bryan Abreu has a track record that goes back multiple years. Mike Burrows was solid in Pittsburgh last year. AJ Blubaugh was good in his role last season.
Tatsuyai Imai didn’t get 54 million over three years because he couldn’t throw strikes in Japan.

Statistically the worst Astros pitching staff was the first year in Minute Maid (2000) when the staff had a 5.42 ERA. This team has a 6.50 ERA.
The worst team ERA in baseball history is the 1930 Phillies with a 6.71.
