Thatās not true. The Astros had to acquire at least one league average starting pitcher or better and get Bloss out of the rotation. The organization clearly doesnāt value Loperfido like some here did.
Bloss is definitely out of the rotationā¦forever. It feels like we just acquired the second coming of Brandon Bielak

Kikuchi has a lot more talent in his arm than Bielak ever did. He can touch 98 with his fastball. Bielak could only do that in his dreams.
Sorry, to me he is slightly less than meh, even with his 98 mph stuff. I really hope Iām wrong about what he brings to the staff.

Kikuchi isnāt a world beater, but Brandon Bielak lacks the stuff to consistently get big league hitters out. There is a big gap between the two.
I hope the Astros can tweak his game enough to make this a ridiculous statement. They basically got another Spencer Arreghetti, albeit with an ERA one run lower. I want to be wrong.
I agree about the difference in their stuff, but the both take more Ls than Ws, Kikuchi moreso. Hoping the Astros coaching staff can unlock something in the short period of time that some are expecting him to be here.
