I get Sturgill Simpson confused with Jason Isbell. flip side is I really like Sturgill Simpson, and am somewhat indifferent to Jason Isbell. Metamodern Sounds in Country Music may be the best album title ever. Ever.

Sturgill is one of my favorites.
His show at Stubb’s here in Austin in '16 was one of my favorites.

Such a superb evening at one of my favorite Austin music venues.
I wanted to see him at ACL Music Fest last year, but couldn’t justify buying a wristband only to see him as I wasn’t all that impressed with the lineups.
ACL Music Fest has gotten so damn commercialized now and I’m not terribly keen on it anymore.
I like them both. Drive-By Truckers were pretty good while Jason was involved. They still are. His tribute to Sheryl Crow performance was pretty damn good. I’ve been a fan ever since I saw that.

I’m a big fan of Jason’s. Every time I see that someone here has posted something from Sturgill I listen to it with increasing consternation wondering what I’m missing.

Eagles at the Sphere review:
Don is just as aloof as ever. He’s playing at this video marvel and wants to tell you “it’s just about the songs”.
Joe Walsh’s voice is (already) gone. Completely incomprehensible.
Vince Gill should be taking all of Glenn’s vocals instead of splitting them with Deacon Frey.
And yet… how many other rock bands can you see five guys step to the mics and start perfectly together in the dark like on “Seven Bridges Road”?
Thoroughly enjoyable show. Sphere is acoustically astounding.

You’re getting exactly what it says on the tin. He’s still a great entertainer, a rough singer, and the crowd will have a fantastic time.

I never liked the Eagles. I was too old for them, I think, and by the time the eagles came around I was jaded.

My favorite Eagles/Big Lebowski story is about how the cab scene secured the rights to Dead Flowers from The Rolling Stones.

They may not be the worst band of all time, there are several others that merit consideration, but the Eagles are fucking terrible, and they are most definitely responsible for unleashing the worst song of all time on a public that did nothing to deserve it.
