Mets @ Astros June 21, 2023

Why is he not in Sugarland? This is no good for anyone. Him or the team or the fans.

I would assume heā€™s out of options.

Oh, that. Then he stays on the 26 man. His arm is too good to let go.

Heā€™s got 6+ years of service time. They couldnā€™t send him down without his permission anyway.

Which begs the question: If you are an MLB player clearly struggling this bad but not hurt, wouldnā€™t it be reasonable to approve such a move to go work on stuff out of the limelight? I guess you canā€™t be on the MLB roster and ā€œrehabā€ in the minors unless you are hurt. His salary is guaranteed. Itā€™s too bad that, with his approval, they canā€™t send him down for a bit.

I think itā€™s more likely they come up with an injury and IL him than to send him down.

The ideal would probably be to send him to West Palm Beach to get him a little rest and work with the training/coaching staff there, like the Jays did with Manoah.
