They are half way there with Teslas in Europe all shipping with standardized CCS charging ports instead of the proprietary Tesla charging port we see here in the US.

From what I’ve seen, in Europe/UK Tesla Superchargers have CCS chargers, too. A limited number are in a pilot scheme to allow non-Teslas to use them.
There’s a long history of high school boys trying to put their lightning connector in the wrong port.

BTW, the next generation of CarPlay is one step closer - thank the maker - to car manufacturers stripping all the nav hardware and media interfaces from their cars and just installing big screens with wireless phone connectivity and a Qi charging pad.
The gas cap / charging port should obviously be on the passenger side.

I wouldn’t mind the highlight switch being on the floor again.
My '67 Mustang had a foot-operated windshield wiper motor. That was awesome!
Edit: It was in addition to the main ww switch.
