I tried an all Astros grid but on the Cy Young square I thought: Nolan - nope, Sutton, Roberts, nope and nope, so I gave up thinking I guess I’ll have to wait for Verlander or Clemens to get in the HoF for this grid. One second after entering Jim Palmer… I think, RANDY JOHNSON YOU DUMBFUCK.
Me too, by the time I thought of it, I had already gotten the wrong order on the rookies of the year and so I had no Hall of Famer
Fun Astros one today.
9/9 with a score of 11. My Astros were Dustin Garneau, Jim Deshaies, and Nori Aoki.
I had Brocail, Portugal, D Bell
I went Brocail, LaTroy Hawkins, and Aoki. Hawkins burned me for a whole 3%.
Nice. I would have also accepted Mitch Meluskey for the Detroit spot. Several Astros/Tigers trades yielded some good choices.
I went with Dotel, Liriano, and Ashby.
Joe Boever, Joe Niekro, Cliff Johnson.
Niiiice
Aurelio Lopez and Jim Clancy
My Astros column was Armondo Galaraga, Robbie Grossman and Ben Francisco for a combined 1.07% - I also used former Astros J D Martinez and Pat Neshak in other squares.
I was checking some other things and just noticed that Steve Finley had 2500+ hits and 300+ homers. That’s quite a career, and I never fully realized it.
From the CF position.
He was damn good.
A month or so ago there was an article in the New Braunfels paper about the tragic life of Brad Halsey. He had pitched for the Longhorns team that won the 2002 College World Series, and pitched professionally for the Yankees, A’s, and Diamondbacks. Halsey’s life after baseball wasn’t pretty. He died in 2014 at age 33 after falling from a cliff along the Guadalupe River. I used him today for 0.2%.
Wow, what a horrible story.
Matt Kata.
All Astros for today. I was gonna use Huff, Zobrist, but decided to research and find some more randoms. Keppinger would’ve worked in all 6 team squares. I had to look up KC/Reds but wanted to see how low it’d be. So really only 8/9
