That one was my mom’s favorite movie. She loved the remake too.
I was just a young lad, pre-bunk days, watching Pollyanna, when I first fell for her.
“it’s a damn shame people be throwin away a perfectly good whiteboy like that”
“She only speaks French, Roy. She doesn’t speak imbecile.”
I can never say “two dollars” normally
Never saw it. Does it hold up well for today’s viewing?
WEAPONS is a solid horror movie. Interesting narrative structure. If you like the genre i think its a great excuse to eat popcorn in the dark with strangers.
Also…lots of great classics coming soon to river oaks and Mfah. Bridge over river kwai, the long good friday, holy mountain, and a lot of violent 80s hong kong classics (THE KILLER!!!) with new subtitles (though the absurd original English translations will be missed).
Anybody seen Caught Stealing?

I’ve been to the bridge on the River Kwai. The Death Railway Museum and cemetery are right there. It’s quite sobering.
HONEY DON’T MOVIE REVIEW
don’t.
Watching “Dead Calm” on Tubi. I’d forgotten how this movie starts. Brutal.
FTR , if I’m on a boat with Nicole Kidman, and Billy Zane shows up, I’m sinking that motherfucker and sailing on.
I thought there was a sci-fi movie thread, but it looks like there’s only one for sci-fi TV. So, putting this here. This is a great interview with John Favreau on The Mandalorian & Grogu movie. The interviewer employees a nice fan/professional cadence to his questions. And, Favreau open up about the process as much as he can.
Great interview.
Thank goodness for Favreau.
YouTube has introduced a new “Lite” subscription which, for $9/month (half the price of the full Premium), you can watch - ad-free - everything except Shorts and music videos. Quite a deal, IMHO.
In addition to all the nonsense I watch, YT has a giant movie library. Here’s Flick Connection’s recommendations for “criminally overlooked” movies on there:
Can’t you still watch “shorts and music videos” on regular youtube?
