Oh, dear: my eyes! Sparks over the top!
He would not be on the hook for the loss, will he? I guess the Astros need to score 2 to make that the caseā¦
Edited to add: nevermind.
Man. You hate to see this for anybody.
4 errors charged (should be 5 for the fielders choice at home). But 4 in a game is an Astros single player record in team history. Yikes.
Or still drunk?
Fitting. Shay pops up to end it. 8-1 Mariners is your final.
Games played by position (with error count) at Sugar Land this year:
1B
- Whitcomb 6 (1 error)
- Kissinger 12 (1 error)
- Dezenzo 10 (1 error)
2B
- Whitcomb 18 (2 errors)
- Kissinger 4 (0 errors)
3B
- Whitcomb 31 (3 errors)
- Kissinger 16 (2 errors)
- Dezenzo 12 (1 error)
SS
- Whitcomb 30 (3 errors)
- Kessinger 27 (3 errors)
There are many more things that determine whether a player is a good fielder, than just errors.
Whitcomb just looks bad and doesnāt make plays.
We have been spoiled with Bregman, but this is extremely low end.
Of course. But baseball reference tracks things like games and errors; it does not provide fielding videos.
I posted in response to a question of whether Kessinger could play 3B. Games played shows some combination of (a) the orgās expectation that a player can adequately man the position, and (b) the orgās patience as he begins to show that he canāt. I just posted the numbers.
Well ā I had also previously reminded us that Brown says he will end up in the OF.
