Why wait around to walk in runs when you can just wild pitch them in

YOU’RE DIGGIN YOUR OWN GRAVE, SON

And…another walk

Arrighetti’s the team’s best pitcher and it’s not close. What a year.

And it’s 6-1

They should quit having batting practice, cut down tremendously on the serious injuries.

Man it’s sad to watch Lance.

It’s even sadder knowing we don’t really have any other choices.

He didn’t look terrible at all for the 1st 2 innings…everything fell to shit once he started looking at his finger and the coach/trainer came out in the 3rd

Halfway…10-1 Dodgers

Everything was fine until that iceberg showed up

…and the band played on

Ball of confusion, that’s what the world is today. Hey hey.

I just got out of a meeting. Did LMJ really wild pitch in three separate runs???

Yes. Salazar helped him out.

There’s no “unheart” emoji so, :^(

I have a question for all of you baseball experts (i.e. everyone). How much longer are we going to keep running McCullers out there? I appreciate his effort, dedication, and toughness, but he is done.

They don’t really have other options at the moment unless you wanna see Colton Gordon, JP France or Brandon Bielak trot out there. I guess you could give Ethan Pecko or Miguel Ullola a shot but Pecko’s only thrown 13 innings so far this year and Ullola is walking 6 per 9 at AAA.

They just don’t have MLB arms available right now, pure and simple. McCullers had at least given you 5 or more innings in 3 straight starts before today, that’s more than you would expect from his replacement if you axed him.

The money is a sunk cost this season so they can financially cut him whenever, can he pitch better than whoever they have in AAA? Most of AAA is already on the roster, so?

McTaggert:

McCullers said a portion of his right pointer finger nail popped off when he was throwing a curveball to start the third and he couldn’t throw the pitch after that.

“Not an excuse, just kind of down a pitch and I was trying to make it through. When they came out, I said, ‘Hey, let me make it through this inning.’ When Josh (Miller) came out I said, ‘I can try to make good pitches and get out of this inning clean.’ Didn’t happen.”

No shit it didn’t happen.

I think this is right. The cupboards are bare. They just announced that they’re bringing Imai back up. This Imai that struggled even worse in his second rehab game than he did in his first:

“Imai had trouble throwing strikes while facing Albuquerque at Constellation Field. He walked five batters in three innings of work, including four walks in the third inning alone, and gave up one run and one hit with three strikeouts. He threw only 27 of 63 pitches for strikes.”
