@moriarty You are absolutely right. I knew it was bad when I heard the crunch and immediately screamed, but I was hoping against all odds no further damage was done. Suffice it to say, I was not pleased when my surgeon told me the screws had moved out of place, and I had to undergo the surgery all over again. I was very frustrated.
Also, thank you for the well wishes, everyone. The injury was brutal. My kneecap was severed into two pieces far displaced from each other (the X-Ray looked like my two kneecap pieces were Mickey Mouse’s ears). It was so painful, I had to ride in an ambulance to the nearby ER when it happened.
I’m on the road to recovery, but I’m just taking it slow and following all my surgeon’s instructions. Fortunately, my need for regular pain medications subsided significantly about a week ago, so that’s progress. It’s still going to take awhile before I’m moving around and resuming some semblance of normal activities, and I’m not doing anything that could potentially cause another relapse. Things will return to normal once the knee heals.
I’ll provide an update this afternoon after my appointment.
Dude, me too. I’m usually fairly impervious to this sort of stuff but good lord, David, what a nightmare. I’t going to take me a while to unshiver myself. I’m glad you’re on the mend.
On another note, I had absolutely no idea that Kodak remained an ongoing concern.
The website isn’t great as they hired a cheap designer to update the old website my cousin had, but they don’t. They only handle digitizing slides, reels, audio cassettes and VHS tapes for customers.
Just leaving my appointment. My surgeon was happy with the X-Rays and healing. He wants me to do a few light exercises at home (nothing weight bearing). If things look good in two weeks, the plan would be to start physical therapy in late January.
