It is important to note that players make significantly less money ( frequently less than peers of comparable performance) for 6 years to get to this point.
The owners aren’t hurting.

I think the team should name him Captain.
Watching him on the field he clearly acts like one.
Maybe the “title” will give the team a little extra currency in negotiations?
Have the Astros ever had an official captain?
10/300 is looking a helluva lot more realistic at this point than 5/125.
Well, pay him and keep him.
When he stays healthy and gets in a consistent groove he is the best all around SS in MLB. But this is only the third or fourth time in his career he had hit that groove.
He’s clearly the leader. I noticed that for the first time last post-season.
Damn, Carlos:
Pretty funny.
That’s a parody account, in case you’re not aware.
He just said what we all think. Fuck the Dodgers.
I’m Carlos Correa* and i approve this message.
*not
Not aware, and thank you.
It’s still pretty funny.
I mean, sure, he didn’t really say it. But I wouldn’t be that surprised if he of the “shut the fuck up” quote had said it. I think it’s in the spirit of something Carlos would say and therefore I accept this as my own personal head cannon
I did think “arrogant entitlement” was a bit outside of Carlos’s usual talking points, even if it was perfect.
So was ‘27 Yankees and “Cole’s mop-up guy at UCLA”. The whole thing reeked of Yankees.
I have been looking into 2022 MLB shortstop situations.
I have put all 29 other teams in 4 catagories:
A’s, Rangers, Royals, Indians, Rays, Brewers, Marlins, Blue Jays, Red Sox, White Sox, Padres, Mets, Mariners, Nationals, Pirates, Rockies.
D’Backs, Braves, Yankees, Cards, Phillies.
Cubs, Giants, Twins, Reds
Tigers, Orioles, Angels, Dodgers.
I would say Detroit is the front runner right now.
They are on the cusp of contending and clearly have the right manager in place.
As recent as 2017 they were #2 in team salary but only have 52.5M committed to 2022.
Current SS are all either performing below average or not highly regarded as future stars.
Highly rated farm system but middle infield is not one of the strengths.
Franchise that has frequently had stars but Cabrera is only big name currently and he is clearly on the down side.
Correa and Hinch reunion.
