If you get Hulu live you get all the ESPN channels.

I don’t pretend to understand the economic model for this industry, but as a consumer, it sure would be nice if I could purchase espn, espn+, space city network, Fox sports, etc. each as separate streaming services. I’m sure the explanation for why I can’t revolves around how much money they can squeeze out of me.

I can get ESPN with Hulu.

Do you have to sign in with your provider’s credentials? If you have a provider that includes ESPN in their channel lineup then you can also watch ESPN on the ESPN app.

If you subscribe to a cable/satellite provider that carries the ESPN channels, you can stream them by signing in through said provider

It’s all clear as mud.

One thing I don’t understand, and I may be misremembering this, but I swear I’ve had to sign in via Spectrum cable to stream a game that’s on broadcast TV (ABC, etc).

It revolves around nobody would pay for the Cartoon Network unless they had to buy it in order to get ESPN. Bundles are how they get people to pay for the less popular channels.

I just discover a channel on DirecTV that runs Magnum and The Rockford Files.

So far that’s the only non-sports programming I’ve watched in the last … forever.

I would pay for the Rockford Files Channel. More than I’d pay for ESPN.

Mrs Hawk watches Hart to Hart all the time. Which looking back upon is a wholly ridiculous premise. At least Jim Rockford, Thomas Magnum, and the Simon brothers were professional investigators. A jet setting carefree millionaire tycoon solving a murder every week between polo matches and fencing lessons is just silly.
