And this one was loss #4.

I prefer to think of it as loss #77

For a 4th string RB heā€™s pretty, pretty, pretty ok

Fuck that. You are unbelievable.

And you are boringly predictable. You cannot possibly bear any criticism of your idiotic team.

Anyway, this is like fly fishing. Let a little out, a little more out.

Letā€™s talk about Ewers. I do not mind criticism, but go back and look at your post. Did Ewers do any thing good to contribute to this win? No, because you love to eviscerate players who make a bad play.

I hope your kid does not play sports. Your attitude will crush him if he is not a superstar.

How good were you?

I was a pretty good safety and flanker.

Ewers is a bit of a disappointment, sorry to say

Maybe you were, maybe you werenā€™t. I never saw you play. How far did you take your team? Did you play in college?

Ewersā€™ team is 11-1. By what standard do you judge him? Yes, he had a couple of bad plays tonight. Did he have any good ones? Did he help his team win?

High School Harrys amuse me. Easy to demand a high standard of excellence while drinking on oneā€™s couch.

I never got to face your spitball, but I did hit a foul line drive off of Kelly Wunsch as a teen, before I struck out on 99mph gas. Iā€™m still proud of that moment.

I was a pretty ok athlete for a 5ā€™11" 170 lb private school gulf coast whiteboy.

If Iā€™d been 6" taller I would have been really good at basketball, but soccer was probably my best sport.

ā€¦and as far as Ewers goes, I judge him by the plays he makes, and moreso by the ones he doesnā€™t

I donā€™t care what happens to this team beyond tonight, although Iā€™m pretty sure I know what will happen. Ewers didnā€™t ā€˜make a bad play,ā€™ he made two horrific plays that would have lost the game against any team not pushing the outer edges of the top 20. I donā€™t care about any of that. What I canā€™t believe is that this team has every claim to being a national champion minus the quarterback, who is plainly not on the same level as the rest of the team. If that were all they had, fine. But they have a guy who is better in every regard that they refuse to play. That is the sort of hubris I detest. I have no idea what sort of backroom deals have gone down with the big time boosters and I donā€™t really care. If you donā€™t start your best player at the most important position on the field, you get what you deserve. And theyā€™ll almost surely get that and more in the weeks to come.

You live to criticize and to demean. Backroom deals? Your meanness would be laughable if it were not so absurd. Pity is the reaction your readers should give your toxic venom. A backroom deal against the Manning family, which agrees that Arch should be a backup and is becoming a better player because of it? Yeah, boy. Sarkisian is going to screw the Manning family??? Sure.

How about the throw to Golden, Knute Rockne? What about the TD throw to Blue? What about the long scramble on one leg? Did Ewers contribute to the win? Should an OL have cut blocked the defender so he could not tip the intercepted pass? Was the fumble by a sliding Ewers a bad play by him or a good play by the tackler who came over the top and punched the ball down and out? Is everything in sports so black and white? Do you represent Good, and are those who displease you Evil? Ewers has the love, respect, and admiration of his teammates, and they follow him. That is the essence of a winning QB, and it does not require perfection. Only you are perfect, apparently, and you attack mere mortals who are not by destroying them with your words.

I wish I understood you, Chuck, because I have met you, and I like you. Your persona here is one of a person who tries to prove his superiority by destroying others. I feel sorry for that person. I wish whatever makes you so mean had not happened and can be resolved. You are a loving husband and a devoted dad. Please be that person here. I admire that person.

As yā€™all know, I grew up in Austin. There is
an adage here which is so true:

ā€œThe most popular man in Austin is UTā€™s second-string QB.ā€

Well, most everyone has bad plays, and the question should be about the body of work. Do opponents get any credit for creating those bad plays? Do teammates also contribute to the bad play?

Look, I was as upset and about the two mistakes which gave the Ags life, but come on, this is college sports. I watch it, but that is all. Disappointed? Yes, I am in a loss. Players, as you should know, try their best to win, and bad plays are as much a part of sports as good plays are.

End of sermon. UT under Ewers is 11-1.
Sarkisian is the coach, and I trust his decisions. He wants to win too.

Good for your as a HS jock. Did you make any bad plays? I sure did, and I hope I was not ā€œmoresoā€ judged by them.

I would have been all-state if my high school coach hadnā€™t been such a dumbass and trusted me to do more than just keep the bench warm.

UT 17 - A&M 7. This is huge.

Huh, I did not get that sense from reading this thread.

I was all-state in high school and saw every play of every game for 9 years.

All-state in what? Irrelevant.

I was In-State in high school.
