Texas has to finish off Kentucky first. That said, Texas has a National Championship caliber defense. If the offense would stop gifting other teams points and short fields, they would be really hard to beat.
They lost to Georgia, Vanderbilt scored 14 points, and Kentucky has 7 of their 14 points today because of it.
