College football 2024

Tech allows only a field goal. Now 17-7 Bears.

They literally have zero wide receivers of any value that can walk. Most teams will look like shit in that scenario. But it doesn’t help that they don’t have a QB that can even appear competent. I’m not saying they don’t suck, but you also can’t ignore the context. I’ll be surprised of they are bowl eligible this year.

Tech has another 80 yard drive and it’s now 17-14 Bears. Tech has the overwhelming lead in time of possession, but terrible special teams play has them still trailing.

If they hadn’t ran Gabriel off, they’d probably be fine. WR injuries or no. The WR injuries just exasperate other issues. You can scheme WRs open if you have an OL, they don’t. A good QB doesn’t need great WRs, theirs suck. You can get by without much of a passing game if you can run the ball, they can’t. If there was an offensive position group you can get by without, it’s RB and WR, but because they suck everywhere else the WR issue is more glaring.

So who had Illinois and Indiana kicking butt in the Big10 on their preseason bingo card?

Dammit! Baylor scores a TD with 4 seconds to go in the first half and will get the ball in the second half. Now 24-14 Baylor.

Not a banner day for kickers.

Baylor whipping Tech 38-21 after three quarters. This is the Baylor team that should have beaten BYU and Colorado. It’s the team I was afraid would finally show up and they are outplaying Tech.

Illinois shuts down Michigan. Michigan may only have one win (Northwestern) left on their schedule (maybe two, depending upon how feisty Michigan St is next weekend). They wouldn’t seem to stand much of a chance against Oregon, Indiana, or Ohio St.

Mukuba is so good, I wish he’d stayed home and not wasted time at Clemson

Georgia is also at DKR. Texas needs to stake their claim tonight.

ABC wearing out Tom Petty bumper tunes tonight.

Not sure how that hold had any impact on the return

Texas O looking confused. They need to fix this.

Wait, so the flag on that return came out of the stands?

No. That was weird conjecture. Replay showed it came from an official who was further upfield.
